Every kid who plays baseball has imagined it.

On August 5, 2026, that dream became reality for Ángel Genao.

And then he made history.

The Cleveland Guardians called up the 22-year-old switch-hitting infielder for his Major League debut against the New York Mets at Progressive Field.

Batting ninth and starting at third base, Genao didn't just get his first Major League hit.

He got four.

Genao finished his debut 4-for-5 with an RBI, becoming the first player in Cleveland franchise history to record four hits in his Major League debut.

More than a century of Cleveland baseball—and nobody had ever done it.

Until Ángel Genao.

Nine years after playing on the Little League World Series stage, he reached the biggest stage in baseball—and delivered one of the greatest debuts in Cleveland history.

There was even another connection waiting for him that night. One of the players Genao admired growing up was Francisco Lindor, the former Cleveland star who was now standing in the opposite dugout as a member of the Mets.
