Before they become household names, many of baseball’s future stars get a chance to show what’s coming.

That’s the MLB All-Star Futures Game.

Held during MLB All-Star festivities, the Futures Game brings together some of the best prospects in professional baseball for a showcase of the game’s next generation. These are players working their way through Minor League Baseball, hoping the next stop in their journey is The Show.

And in the 2026 Futures Game, EARNED ballplayer Miguel Sime Jr. brought the heat.

The Washington Nationals pitching prospect took the mound and threw the fastest pitch of the entire game: 101.1 mph.

Triple digits on one of baseball’s biggest prospect stages.

Sime also struck out two batters, showing that there was more to his appearance than lighting up the radar gun.

For baseball fans, the Futures Game is special because you never know who you're watching before they become stars.

Future All-Stars, Cy Young winners, MVPs and World Series champions have appeared in the game while they were still prospects trying to climb the Minor League ladder.

That's part of baseball culture.

Everyone sees the Major League stadiums, packed crowds and highlights.

Selected by Washington in the fourth round of the 2025 MLB Draft, Sime has quickly established himself as one of the organization's exciting young pitching prospects.

And for one afternoon at the Futures Game, baseball fans got a glimpse of what makes his arm so special.
